OUTtv Rounds up the year with 10 New Commissions

OUTtv, Canada’s only and the world’s first LGBTQ+ television network has commissioned 10 new shows.

New shows ordered by the network include Boy Boy from Romeo et fils, Never Apart season five from Never Apart Inc., Avocado Toast season two from Guts and Gall Productions and Group Sext season one from Go Button Media. The network has also commissioned a series of drag related shows from Producers Entertainment Group (PEG) including:  The Browns season two, The Sherry Vine Variety Show, Sharon Needles: Mask It or Casket and music specials from Jujubee, Peppermint and Bebe Zahara Benet.

Boy Boy (10 x 30’) is a documentary series from Romeo et Fils that paints a contemporary portrait of gay pornography in Montreal which is a major hub of this lucrative industry.  Each episode covers a different topic to provide an overview of the industry including international actors, cult filmmakers and other specialists.

Never Apart season five (6 x 30’) an arts and culture news program that gives a much-needed voice to queer artists. Through artist visits, profiles and interview we get to hear their unique stories and learn about their work.

Avocado Toast season two (10 x 11’) from Guts and Gall Productions, this intergenerational sex comedy exploring the comforts and awkwardness of sex from age 25 to 69 returns for a second season. When it comes to millennials and baby boomers, these nuts haven’t fallen so far from the family tree.

Group Sext season one (6 x 30’) from Go Button Media, is a socially distanced dating show that gives one Masterdater a shot at finding love, or at least a sexting buddy. Using flirty, steamy, thirsty and memorable texts, videos and pics, Crystal (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK) helps the Masterdater whittle the Sexters down to just one for a video call – but it’s down to the Sexter if they want to accept or decline the call!

The Browns season two (3 x22’) from Producers Entertainment Group, Tammie returns home after her journey of self-discovery to find her family in strange form. Amidst the chaos of her son’s viral fame, her best friend Sheila’s drunken hijinks, and her father’s involvement in a pyramid scheme, Tammie decides to take a second shot at love.

The Sherry Vine Variety Show (6 x 30’) from Producers Entertainment Group is inspired by the great variety show legends of the 1970’s, Sherry Vine and director John Mark update the format with raucous comedy, show-stopping musical numbers, hilarious sketches and more. Special guest stars include Bianca del Rio, Alaska Thunderfuck, Bob the Drag Queen, and many more.

Sharon Needles: Mask It or Casket (1 x 75’) from Producers Entertainment Group is a star-studded entertainment special with Sharon Needles, filmed live in New York City.

BeBe Zahara Benet: Broken English (1 x 45’) from Producers Entertainment Group is a live performance from RuPaul’s Drag Race winner BeBe Zahara Benet. Filmed directly from her living room, BeBe Zahara Benet performs songs from her latest EP “Broken English” with the help from her eclectic band.

Peppermint: Girl Like Me (1 x 45’) from Producers Entertainment Group is a live special from RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni Peppermint. For over a decade Peppermint has dominated the New York club scene with her high-energy performance and engaging personality. But in this special and intimate moment, Peppermint gets vulnerable and performs select songs from her latest EP, “A Girl Like Me: Letters to My Lovers” that is based on her real-life adventures when she was in love over the past year.

Jujubee: Good Juju (1 x 45’) from Producers Entertainment Group see’s RuPauls Drag Race alumni Jujubee perform each song from her EPs “Good Juju Vol. 1 & 2“, alongside her accompanist Tony Ni Evans. In between performances, Jujubee discusses the meaning behind each song and how they were created with her producer Aaron Aiken.
