VICE STUDIOS and OUTtv PARTNER ON DEVELOPMENT OF GROUNDBREAKING NEW FACTUAL SERIES: CLOTHES MINDED

VICE Studios, the global television and feature film production facility from VICE Media, and OUTtv, Canada’s only national lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) television network, are joining forces to produce a Canadian first; a makeover series that celebrates the transgender and gender non-conforming community.

Clothes Minded will centre around transgender and gender non-conforming young adults who are nervous for a key event coming up in their lives (a job interview, a wedding, a prom) because they are still working to feel comfortable with their identity. Clothes Minded will be a comrade in arms, helping each individual find their own unique look and, consequently, an authentic way to represent and connect with their true selves.

“Clothes Minded is a natural next step for us in original programming as we continue to develop content for and about the LGBTQ+ communities,” said Brad Danks, CEO of OUTtv. “VICE Studios always strives to shine a light on underrepresented communities and we look forward to joining forces with them to bring new and inclusive programming to our respective audiences.”

The series marks the first production partnership between VICE Studios and OUTtv. VICE Media has long been illuminating all aspects of the LGBTQ+ space by focusing on the people who have been there all along—with extensive coverage across its digital and news verticals and series such as Gaycation with Ellen Page, My House, and Trixie & Katya.

“Celebrating unique viewpoints of the world that connect humanity together is emblematic of VICE’s ethos” says Vanessa Case, SVP, Studio Canada. “Clothes Minded is the perfect series to bring that spirit to audiences in partnership with OUTtv.”

VICE Studios will be handling global distribution of the series outside of OUTtv’s territories, which are in Canada , South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and India.
