Starbucks and OUTtv “Coffee Frenemies” Ad Featuring Bianca Del Rio and Adore Delano Goes Viral
November 12, 2014
TORONTO, ON – November 12, 2014 – Canadian LGBT network OUTtv has created a viral sensation with the broadcast and social media short ‘Coffee Frenemies.’ The LGBT-focused ad has garnered more than 575,000 views on YouTube since it debuted on Oct. 29.
OUTtv’s in-house team conceived, developed and produced the 63-second video during Toronto WorldPride 2014 in June. It stars RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 favourites Bianca Del Rio and Adore Delano.
“The LGBT community is becoming a major driving force of Canadian culture. The popularity of this video is a testament to that,” said Brad Danks, COO at OUTtv. “It’s been very rewarding to create this initiative for a major brand and to have it be received so positively.”
Coffee Frenemies’ snappy dialogue and exuberant energy has made it a viral sensation. In the video, Adore and Bianca start to squabble – but a savvy serving of skinny lattes saves the day.
The video short has an exceptional audience view duration of 97 per cent with 53 per cent of views from mobile devices (smart phones and tablets).
